Message from the Chapter President, Lisa Deaton

Welcome to a new year for the Kentucky Bluegrass HIMSS Chapter! I am truly honored and excited to serve as President this year. As we embark on a new year together, I am filled with enthusiasm and anticipation for the opportunities that lie ahead. The chapter board is already busy planning for several valuable educational opportunities, networking events, and forums for sharing best practices and insights for the coming year.

Our chapter is a community of passionate professionals dedicated to leveraging technology to enhance patient care, improve healthcare outcomes, and drive innovation in our field. Together, we strive to be at the forefront of healthcare transformation while navigating the evolving landscape of digital health. HIMSS recognized the Chapter with the 2023 Bronze Recognition award for the impact of the chapter on our communities through technology-centered events, education, initiatives, collaborations, and advocacy. A heartfelt thank you to all our chapter members, organizational affiliates, and sponsors for making this past year one of growth and achievements.

I encourage each of you to actively engage with our chapter, whether through participating in events, contributing your expertise, or simply connecting with fellow members. Your involvement strengthens our collective voice and enhances our ability to influence positive change within our industry. I am grateful for our current board members and volunteers who contribute their time to make the chapter a success. We have numerous volunteer opportunities available across several committees: Advocacy, Communication, Informatics, Events, Organizational Affiliates, and Vendor Relations. If you are interested in any of these areas, would like to contribute in another capacity, or have any feedback or ideas for future programs and events, please contact us.

On behalf of the Kentucky Bluegrass Chapter Board, thank you for your ongoing support. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we shape the future of healthcare IT together.

Warm regards,

Lisa Deaton, MSN, BSN, RN, SHIMSS
